WhatsApp Cloud API
The WhatsApp Cloud API is the version of the WhatsApp Business Platform that Meta hosts, letting businesses send and receive WhatsApp messages from their own software instead of the phone app.

How does the Cloud API work?

A business registers a phone number with Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform. Software then sends messages through Meta’s API and receives incoming messages through webhooks (Meta documentation).

To start a conversation with a customer outside the customer-service window, businesses use message templates that Meta reviews before they can be sent.

How is it different from the WhatsApp Business app?

The WhatsApp Business app is a phone app for one business account. The Cloud API has no app of its own: you use it through software, such as a shared inbox, a CRM or your own code.

How does whatsappx.si use the Cloud API?

In whatsappx.si you can connect numbers through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform using Meta Embedded Signup inside the app, verify the phone number, connect several Meta numbers to one workspace and sync your message templates with Meta. Meta bills its own messaging fees for the platform separately.
