Best WATI Alternatives in India (2026)

Seven WATI alternatives for Indian teams compared on how they connect, users included, Meta fees and INR pricing, as of October 2026. Includes whatsappx.si.

On this page

TL;DR

  • The best WATI alternative depends on three things: whether you need the official WhatsApp Business API (templates, campaigns at scale) or a QR-linked inbox for the number you already have, how many seats you need, and how you want Meta’s per-message fees billed.
  • As of October 2026, WATI’s India Growth plan is listed at ₹2,199 per month billed annually with 3 users and no extra seats; Meta message charges are billed separately (WATI pricing).
  • Official-API alternatives with INR pricing include Interakt, AiSensy, Gallabox and DoubleTick. Periskope and whatsappx.si link the WhatsApp you already have by QR code; whatsappx.si can also add numbers through Meta’s official Cloud API.
  • Whichever tool you pick, message only people who opted in, send in small batches and follow WhatsApp’s Business and Commerce Policies. If WhatsApp restricts a number, that is between you and Meta.

What does WATI offer, and what does it cost in India?

As of October 2026, WATI is a customer engagement platform built on the official WhatsApp Business Platform (API). It bundles a shared team inbox, broadcast campaigns, a no-code chatbot builder, AI agents, Click-to-WhatsApp ads tooling and 100+ integrations such as HubSpot, Zoho CRM and Shopify (WATI), and it has iOS and Android apps (WATI help centre). Numbers connect either through the official API or through Meta's Coexistence flow for WhatsApp Business app numbers, which can sync up to six months of 1:1 chat history; WATI's help centre says personal WhatsApp numbers are not compatible (WATI help centre).

As of October 2026, WATI's India pricing lists Growth at ₹2,199 per month billed annually (3 users, no extra seats), Pro at ₹4,899 and Business at ₹14,799 per month billed annually, each with 5 users and paid add-on seats. There is also a single-user pay-as-you-go option where you pay ₹999 and receive it back as message credits. WhatsApp per-message charges are billed separately, and WATI's help centre notes that service messages are billable from 1 October 2026 after Meta's 1,000 free per month (WATI pricing, WATI help centre).

Why do Indian teams look for a WATI alternative?

The reasons fall into four buckets, and none of them is a knock on WATI, which is a strong product for marketing-led teams:

  • Seat limits. Growth is capped at 3 users and cannot add more, so a growing support team has to move up a plan.
  • A number that is not on the WhatsApp Business app. Coexistence does not accept personal WhatsApp numbers, and WATI's help centre says Meta blocks it in some countries.
  • Paying for more than you use. Broadcasts, chatbots and ads tooling are the heart of WATI. A team that mostly answers inbound queries may not need them.
  • Billing preferences. Some teams prefer per-user pricing, some want a free entry plan, and some want no Meta per-message fees at all.

Work out which of these applies to you before reading on, because it points you to the right kind of tool.

How do the WATI alternatives compare?

The table lists what each tool publishes on its own website as of October 2026. Prices are starting points; some are shown before GST or other taxes, so always check the linked pricing page before you commit.

Where does whatsappx.si fit?

whatsappx.si is a shared WhatsApp inbox for teams. You scan a QR code to connect the WhatsApp you already have, using the same linked-device feature WhatsApp Web uses, and recent chat history syncs in. Your whole team then replies from one inbox, with assignment, search, unread counts and live updates. Keyword-triggered auto-replies answer common questions automatically today, and a knowledge base lets teammates find answers in your articles by keyword search. AI-written replies to customers are coming soon; they are not available yet.

If you later need the official route, whatsappx.si can also connect numbers through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform: Meta Embedded Signup inside the app, phone-number verification, several Meta numbers per workspace and message templates synced with Meta. A REST API and outbound webhooks are available for connecting your own systems.

It fits best when:

  • Your team mostly answers customers who message you first, and you want to keep your current number and chat history.
  • You want several people on one number without paying for marketing tooling you will not use.
  • You are happy to connect other systems through a REST API and outbound webhooks, since there are no built-in CRM integrations.

It is not the right choice when:

  • You run broadcast campaigns. whatsappx.si has no bulk broadcast feature and must not be used for unsolicited messaging.
  • You want a drag-and-drop chatbot or flow builder, native mobile apps, or certifications such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2. whatsappx.si has none of these today.
  • You need Meta Business Partner standing. As of October 2026, WATI, Interakt, AiSensy, Gallabox and respond.io all state it on their websites; whatsappx.si is independent of Meta.

India (INR) plans are not published yet, so a direct cost comparison is not possible today.

How do you keep a QR-linked number safe?

WhatsApp says its products are not intended for bulk or automated messaging and that both violate its Terms of Service (WhatsApp Help Centre). A few habits reduce the risk of a restriction on whatsappx.si, Periskope or any other linked-device tool:

  • Warm up a new number first. If you have just created a WhatsApp number, use it normally on your phone for 15–20 days before connecting it to any software.
  • Send in small batches. Send 5–10 messages at a time, never a bulk blast, and leave gaps between batches.
  • Only message people who opted in, and stop the moment someone asks you to.
  • Keep the phone active. You can link up to four devices, and linked devices log out if the primary phone is unused for more than 14 days (WhatsApp Help Centre).

Otherwise WhatsApp may restrict or block the number. For high volume, approved templates and automation at scale, connect through the official Cloud API instead.

How do the other WATI alternatives differ?

Everything below is taken from each company's own website as of October 2026. Check the linked pages before you decide, because plans and prices change.

Interakt (Jio Haptik)

Interakt is a WhatsApp, Instagram and RCS suite from Mumbai-based Jio Haptik, a Meta Business Partner (Interakt contact). Its strength is D2C commerce: catalogue, checkout bot, WhatsApp Pay and Shopify automations such as abandoned-checkout reminders, plus unlimited agents on paid plans and a 14-day free trial (Interakt). As of October 2026, Growth is listed at ₹2,799 per month plus taxes, and template messages are charged per message at plan-specific rates on top (Interakt pricing). The standard API setup needs a number with no active WhatsApp account (Interakt resource centre), while Coexistence needs a number already on the WhatsApp Business app (Interakt resource centre).

AiSensy

Gurugram-based AiSensy (AiSensy privacy policy) is a Meta Business Partner (AiSensy) and the low-cost marketing option in this list. As of October 2026, its Free Forever plan includes official API access, live chat and template creation; Basic is ₹1,500 per month and Pro ₹3,200 per month on monthly billing, while the chatbot builder (₹2,500/month) and AI Agent Builder (₹1,350/month) are add-ons (AiSensy pricing). It includes more seats than WATI's Growth plan (1 owner plus 5 agents on Basic and Pro) and is stronger on broadcasting, retargeting and Click-to-WhatsApp ads tooling. Broadcasting is not available on the free plan, and all billing is prepaid.

Gallabox

Chennai-based Gallabox (Gallabox contact) covers WhatsApp, Instagram, a website widget and AI voice, with AI agents, a flow builder, broadcasts and CRM integrations such as HubSpot, Zoho and LeadSquared. It states SOC 2 Type II compliance and offers Android and iOS apps (Gallabox). As of October 2026, Basic is ₹2,399 per month billed annually and capped at 3 users; Essential (₹5,599 per month billed annually) includes 6. WhatsApp conversation fees are passed through with a Gallabox markup (Gallabox pricing). Coexistence must be enabled by Gallabox support first (Gallabox docs).

DoubleTick

DoubleTick, from Mumbai-based Apport Software Solutions, the QuickSell team (About DoubleTick), targets sales-led teams that need broadcasts with segments, Bot Studio, AI agents and governance features such as custom roles and team hierarchy, with Android and iOS apps. It states ISO 27001 certification (DoubleTick). As of October 2026, Starter is ₹3,000 per month billed yearly plus 18% GST and Pro is ₹4,200 per month billed yearly; there is no free trial, only a demo (DoubleTick pricing). Coexistence is currently available in India and runs at a fixed 20 messages per second (DoubleTick help).

Periskope

Periskope is the closest QR-linked alternative. Like whatsappx.si, it links regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business app numbers by scanning a QR code, so there are no Meta per-message fees, templates or 24-hour window. As of October 2026, it is stronger for WhatsApp group management, ticketing, SLA rules and native CRM integrations, and it has iOS and Android apps and states ISO/IEC 27001 certification (Periskope). Starter is ₹1,200 per user per month billed annually (₹2,000 monthly) and Pro is ₹2,000 (₹3,000 monthly), with users and phones billed separately (Periskope pricing). It does not support WhatsApp Business API numbers, so there is no official-API route if you need one later, and its terms warn that WhatsApp may block numbers (Periskope terms).

respond.io

respond.io is an omnichannel platform from Kuala Lumpur that brings WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and email into one inbox, with workflows, AI Agents, broadcasts and calling (respond.io). It passes WhatsApp fees through at Meta's rates from a prepaid balance with no markup (respond.io help). Its strength is multi-channel support in one inbox. The trade-off for Indian teams is USD-only pricing: as of October 2026, Starter is $79 per month billed yearly with 5 users, and Growth and Advanced scale with Monthly Active Contacts (respond.io pricing).

How should you choose a WATI alternative?

  1. Start with the number. Among the tools in this article, a personal WhatsApp number you want to keep works only with QR-linked tools (whatsappx.si, Periskope). A WhatsApp Business app number can use Coexistence on WATI, Interakt, AiSensy, Gallabox, DoubleTick or respond.io, or QR linking. A fresh number for scale can go on the official API with any of the official-API tools, or with whatsappx.si's official Cloud API connection.
  2. Count your seats. Three people or fewer suits WATI Growth or Gallabox Basic. Larger support teams should look at Interakt's unlimited agents, Periskope's per-user pricing, or whatsappx.si's owner, admin and agent roles.
  3. Decide whether you broadcast. If campaigns are your main use, stay with an official-API marketing platform. If inbound support is, a lighter inbox may be enough.
  4. Budget for Meta fees. Since 1 October 2026, Meta charges for service messages after 1,000 free per business number per month, on top of per-message charges for template messages (Meta pricing). QR-linked numbers do not go through the platform, so those fees do not apply, but the linked-device rules and WhatsApp's policies do.

WhatsApp is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. whatsappx.si is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta. Competitor facts in this article are as of October 2026 and taken from the sources listed below.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free WATI alternative in India?
As of October 2026, AiSensy lists a Free Forever plan that includes official WhatsApp Business API access, live chat and template creation, though broadcasting needs a paid plan (AiSensy pricing). Interakt, Gallabox, WATI and respond.io offer time-limited free trials instead. Meta’s per-message fees still apply on any official-API tool: template messages are charged when delivered, and service messages beyond 1,000 free per number per month.
Which WATI alternative works with a personal WhatsApp number?
WATI’s Coexistence accepts only WhatsApp Business app numbers. If you want to keep a personal WhatsApp number, you need a tool that links it as a device by QR code, such as whatsappx.si or Periskope. Both rely on WhatsApp’s linked-device feature, so the four-device cap and the 14-day phone-activity rule apply, and WhatsApp’s policies on opt-in and bulk messaging still govern how you use it.
Do I still pay Meta fees if I leave WATI?
It depends on how the new tool connects. On any official-API platform (Interakt, AiSensy, Gallabox, DoubleTick, respond.io or an official-API number in whatsappx.si), Meta charges per delivered message by category, including service messages beyond 1,000 free per number per month since 1 October 2026. A QR-linked number does not go through Meta’s platform, so no Meta per-message fees apply.
Can my WhatsApp number get blocked if I use a QR-linked inbox?
Yes, it can. WhatsApp’s terms prohibit bulk and automated messaging, and it may restrict or ban numbers that break them. Use a new number normally for 15–20 days before connecting it, send only 5–10 messages at a time, and message only people who opted in. If WhatsApp restricts a number, that is handled between you and Meta; whatsappx.si is not responsible and cannot restore an account.
Does whatsappx.si offer broadcasts like WATI?
No. whatsappx.si has no bulk broadcast campaigns, no chatbot flow builder and no built-in CRM integrations. It offers a shared inbox for the WhatsApp you already have, with assignment and roles, keyword auto-replies, a searchable knowledge base for teammates, Meta template sync for official-API numbers, a REST API and outbound webhooks. If campaigns are your main use, WATI, AiSensy, Interakt or DoubleTick will serve you better.
Should I pick an official-API tool or a QR-linked inbox?
Pick the official API when you need approved templates to reach people outside the 24-hour window, high volume, or automation at scale. Pick QR linking when your team mostly replies to customers who message first and you want to keep your existing number and history. whatsappx.si supports both, so a workspace can start with a QR-linked number and add official numbers later.
