What is WATI?
As of October 2026, WATI is a customer-engagement platform built on the official WhatsApp Business API, operated by Clare.AI Limited in Hong Kong and showing an Official Meta Business Partner badge (wati.io, terms). It combines a team inbox with broadcast campaigns, a no-code chatbot builder, AI agents, WhatsApp Business Calling, Instagram automation and 100+ integrations.
WATI connects a number through the official platform or through Meta’s Coexistence flow for WhatsApp Business app numbers, which syncs up to six months of 1:1 history but not group chats, needs a Facebook Business Page and is blocked in some countries (WATI help).
Who is each product for?
WATI: marketing, sales and e-commerce teams
Teams that run campaigns, build chatbots without code, plug WhatsApp into a CRM or store, and work from a phone app. If broadcasts are central to your plan, WATI is the better fit.
whatsappx.si: teams sharing one WhatsApp number
Support, sales or operations teams already on a WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app number who want several people replying at once from a browser, with assignment, roles and unread counts.
whatsappx.si: teams that build their own stack
Developers who prefer a REST API, outbound webhooks and a live event stream over a fixed integration list. For example, a logistics team could forward every incoming message to its own order system.
How does connecting a number differ?
whatsappx.si links the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app number you already have by scanning a QR code, like WhatsApp Web. The number becomes a linked device, recent chat history syncs in and your phone app keeps working. WhatsApp allows up to four linked devices, which log out if the phone is unused for 14 days (WhatsApp Help Center). For higher volume, templates and automation at scale, whatsappx.si recommends the official WhatsApp Business Platform instead.
WATI is built on the official API. Its Coexistence option also uses a QR scan, but it is Meta’s own onboarding flow, which gives WATI stronger official standing. The trade-off is scope: WhatsApp Business app numbers only, version 2.24.17 or newer, and not in every country.
Either way, WhatsApp’s products are not intended for bulk or automated messaging (WhatsApp Help Center), and you may contact only people who opted in (Meta policy).
How is each product priced?
WATI publishes prices by region. As of October 2026, its pricing page lists Growth, Pro and Business tiers in USD for the US and INR for India, plus an India pay-as-you-go single-user plan whose fee is returned as message credits. Growth includes 3 users and cannot add more; Pro and Business include 5 with paid extra seats. Meta’s per-message charges are billed on top, and service messages are billable from October 1, 2026 after Meta’s free tier (WATI pricing, WATI help). A 7-day free trial needs no credit card (wati.io). Some Capterra reviewers call the pricing high; others praise the chatbot setup and support (Capterra).
whatsappx.si has plans for the USA (USD) and India (INR), but prices are not published yet, so a direct price comparison is not possible today. For official-platform numbers, Meta bills its per-message fees separately on either product (Meta pricing). QR-linked numbers do not use the official platform, so those fees do not apply to them.

whatsappx.si has no importer for WATI chatbots, broadcasts or chat history. Recreate replies as keyword auto-replies, add help articles to the knowledge base, sync templates with Meta for official-API numbers, and reconnect other systems through the REST API and webhooks.
