Interakt Alternatives for Indian D2C Brands (2026)

Interakt alternatives in India compared: AiSensy, Wati, Gallabox, DoubleTick and whatsappx.si on connection method, INR pricing, Shopify tooling and Meta fees.

On this page

TL;DR

  • The right Interakt alternative depends on three things: whether you want to keep an existing WhatsApp number as it is, whether you actually run campaigns and commerce flows or mainly answer customers, and how each platform bills Meta’s per-message fees.
  • For Shopify-heavy D2C brands that want campaigns, catalogues and checkout in one place, AiSensy, Wati, Gallabox and DoubleTick are the closest like-for-like alternatives, all on the official WhatsApp Business API with published INR prices (as of October 2026).
  • whatsappx.si fits a different need: scan the WhatsApp you already have with a QR code (or connect an official API number) and your whole team replies from one inbox, with keyword auto-replies today and AI replies coming soon. It has no broadcasts, no flow builder and no Shopify integration.
  • Whichever you pick, message only customers who opted in, send in small batches (5–10 at a time) and never bulk. If WhatsApp restricts a number, that is handled between you and Meta.

What does Interakt include, and who is it built for?

Interakt is a WhatsApp, Instagram and RCS marketing, support and commerce suite from Jio Haptik Technologies, Mumbai, built on the official WhatsApp Business API (Interakt). It is aimed squarely at SMBs and D2C brands: a catalogue, a checkout bot, WhatsApp Pay, an order management panel and Shopify automations such as abandoned-checkout reminders and COD-to-prepaid nudges sit alongside campaigns, a no-code chatbot builder and a shared team inbox. Interakt describes itself as a recognised Meta Business Partner and has Android and iOS apps (About Interakt).

As of October 2026, Interakt’s Marketing & Support Hub lists Growth at ₹2,799/month and Advanced at ₹3,799/month (plus taxes) on monthly billing, Starter at ₹3,499 per quarter, and Enterprise on request (Interakt pricing). Paid plans include unlimited agents. WhatsApp template charges are billed per message on top of the subscription at plan-specific rates (for example ₹0.958 per marketing message to Indian numbers on Growth), and only Enterprise lists “No Markup Charges”. WhatsApp AI agents are a ₹3,000/month add-on on Growth and Advanced. A 14-day free trial is available without a credit card.

Two setup details matter for everything that follows. Interakt’s standard setup guide says the number must not be linked to an active WhatsApp account, so an existing account on that number has to be deleted first (Interakt: link your number). The alternative, Coexistence, lets you keep a number that is already active on the WhatsApp Business App and use both at once with real-time sync, but it does not support personal WhatsApp accounts or virtual numbers (Interakt: WhatsApp Coexistence).

When should a D2C brand consider an Interakt alternative?

If you sell on Shopify, run weekly campaigns and want commerce flows in one subscription, Interakt is a good fit. Teams still look elsewhere for a few practical reasons:

  • You want to keep the number your customers already know. If that number is on the regular WhatsApp app rather than WhatsApp Business, Interakt’s Coexistence will not accept it, and the standard setup means deleting the account.
  • You mostly need an inbox, not a campaign engine. A small brand answering order queries, returns and “where is my parcel?” messages may never touch campaigns, Forms or the chatbot builder, but still pays for the bundle.
  • Advanced chatbot flows sit on the Advanced plan. Branching logic and API calls in the chatbot builder need Advanced; Growth has linear flows only.
  • Per-message markup. Template charges on Starter to Advanced carry Interakt’s rate, and “No Markup Charges” is listed on Enterprise only.
  • Team creation is still marked “Coming Soon” on the pricing page as of October 2026, which matters if you run more than one brand or store.
  • Support speed. Several Capterra reviewers mention slow support response times, while others praise ease of use and the Shopify catalogue sync (Capterra: Interakt reviews).

Why choose AiSensy for low-cost, marketing-first WhatsApp?

AiSensy (Gurugram) runs on the official API and is built around broadcasting and retargeting: audience segments, a campaign scheduler, click tracking, a Click-to-WhatsApp Ads Manager, WhatsApp payments, Forms, catalogues, and Shopify and WooCommerce integrations (AiSensy). As of October 2026 it lists a Free Forever plan, Basic at ₹1,500/month, Pro at ₹3,200/month, Premium at ₹9,100/month and Unlimited at ₹45,000/month, with the chatbot builder (₹2,500/month) and AI Agent Builder (₹1,350/month) as add-ons (AiSensy pricing). Where it is stronger than Interakt: the free entry point and lower paid tiers. Where to look closely: broadcasting is not on the free plan, Basic and Pro include five agents with extra seats at ₹750/month, and webhooks start on Premium.

Why choose Wati for integrations?

Wati, operated from Hong Kong, is an Official Meta Business Partner with a team inbox, broadcasts, a no-code chatbot builder, AI agents, Instagram automation and 100+ integrations including Shopify, WooCommerce, Klaviyo and Zapier (Wati). India pricing as of October 2026 starts at ₹2,199/month for Growth billed annually (₹2,999 monthly), with Pro at ₹4,899 and Business at ₹14,799 billed annually, plus a ₹999 pay-as-you-go option (Wati pricing). Where it is stronger: integrations and regional pricing. Where to look closely: Growth includes three users and cannot add more, Coexistence works only with WhatsApp Business App numbers, and per-message charges are billed separately.

Why choose Gallabox for AI agents and omnichannel?

Gallabox (Chennai) covers WhatsApp, Instagram, a website widget and AI voice, with AI agents, an inbox AI copilot, chatbot flows, broadcasts and integrations such as Shopify, Razorpay, Stripe, Zoho, HubSpot and Salesforce (Gallabox). As of October 2026, Basic is ₹2,399/month billed annually (₹2,999 quarterly), Essential ₹5,599 and Advanced ₹13,599, and WhatsApp conversation fees are passed through with a Gallabox markup (Gallabox pricing). Where it is stronger: AI depth, CRM integrations and stated SOC 2 Type II compliance. Where to look closely: Basic is capped at three users with no webhooks, and Coexistence must be enabled by support first.

Why choose DoubleTick for sales-led teams?

DoubleTick (Mumbai, by QuickSell) is built for sales-led teams: a team inbox, bulk broadcasts with segments, Bot Studio, AI agents, a QuickSell catalogue and ordering bot, custom roles and a team hierarchy, and apps for Android, iOS, Windows and Mac (DoubleTick). As of October 2026, Starter is ₹3,000/month billed yearly and Pro ₹4,200/month billed yearly, plus 18% GST, with conversation charges extra (DoubleTick pricing). Where it is stronger: governance for larger teams and multi-number management. Where to look closely: there is no free trial, many integrations are paid add-ons, and Coexistence is India-only and fixed at 20 messages per second.

Where does whatsappx.si fit?

whatsappx.si is not a like-for-like Interakt replacement. It is a shared WhatsApp inbox for teams. You connect a number in one of two ways: scan a QR code with the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app you already use (the inbox becomes a linked device, like WhatsApp Web, and recent chat history syncs in), or connect through Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform using Embedded Signup inside the app, with several Meta numbers per workspace. Your whole team then replies from one list at the same time, with search, assignment, unread counts, roles (owner, admin, agent) and live updates.

On top of that sit keyword-triggered auto-replies (rules you switch on and off, with run counts), message templates you can create and sync with Meta for official-API numbers, a knowledge base where teammates find answers in your own articles by keyword search, and, as additional features for developers, a REST API with API keys and outbound webhooks for incoming messages. AI replies to customers and AI-generated answers from the knowledge base are coming soon; they are not available today.

What it does not have, and Interakt does: broadcast campaigns, a chatbot or flow builder, a catalogue or checkout, WhatsApp Pay, a Shopify integration, Instagram or RCS channels, and native mobile apps. Anything you want to automate with your store has to go through the API and webhooks. Prices for India are not published yet.

For example, a three-person D2C team that handles order and return queries on a WhatsApp number its customers have saved for years, and runs its marketing on Meta ads rather than WhatsApp broadcasts, is the kind of team whatsappx.si is designed for. A brand whose growth depends on weekly WhatsApp campaigns and abandoned-cart flows will be better served by Interakt or one of the official-API alternatives above.

What does the 1 October 2026 service message change mean for Indian SMBs?

Since 1 October 2026, Meta charges for service messages (free-form replies inside the 24-hour customer service window) after a free tier of 1,000 delivered service messages per business phone number per month, at that market’s utility and authentication rate; utility messages sent as replies inside the window are now charged too (Meta: non-template message pricing). The free tier resets monthly without rolling over (WhatsApp Business Platform FAQ), and Meta does not charge for messages customers send to you. Eligible India-based accounts must also migrate all WABAs in their business portfolio to INR billing by 31 December 2026 (Meta: pricing).

For a support-heavy D2C brand on any official-API platform, that means budgeting for replies, not just campaigns. A QR-linked number in whatsappx.si does not go through the Business Platform, so those platform fees do not apply to it; the linked-device limits and WhatsApp’s policies do.

What should you know before linking a number by QR code?

QR linking uses WhatsApp’s linked-device feature: up to four devices, and they log out if the phone goes unused for over 14 days (WhatsApp Help Center). WhatsApp also states that its products are not intended for bulk or automated messaging (WhatsApp Help Center), and its Business Messaging Policy allows you to contact people only after they have shared their number and opted in (WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy).

Our rules for keeping a number healthy:

  • Warm up a new number first. If you have just created a WhatsApp number, use it normally from your phone for 15–20 days before you link it to whatsappx.si or any other inbox.
  • Send in small batches. Send 5–10 messages at a time, never a bulk blast, and reply to conversations customers start.
  • Opt-in only. Message only people who agreed to hear from you, and honour every opt-out.
  • Move to the official API when you need templates, high volume or automation at scale.

How should a Shopify D2C brand choose?

  • Need campaigns, catalogue, checkout and Shopify automations in one subscription? Shortlist Interakt, AiSensy, Gallabox and Wati, and compare the Meta fee markup on each.
  • Want to start free and grow into paid? AiSensy’s Free Forever plan is the only free tier in this list as of October 2026.
  • Sales team across many numbers with roles and hierarchy? DoubleTick.
  • Mainly answering customers on a number you already use, with a team, without deleting or migrating the account? whatsappx.si, with the option to add official-API numbers later.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free Interakt alternative in India?
As of October 2026, AiSensy lists a Free Forever plan that includes WhatsApp Business API access, live chat and template creation, but not broadcasting (AiSensy pricing). Meta’s per-message fees still apply on any official-API platform. Wati, Gallabox and Interakt offer time-limited free trials rather than a free plan, and DoubleTick offers a demo instead.
Can I keep my existing WhatsApp number when I move away from Interakt?
It depends on the platform and the number. As of October 2026, Interakt, AiSensy, Wati, Gallabox and DoubleTick support Meta’s Coexistence for numbers already on the WhatsApp Business App; Interakt, Wati and DoubleTick state that personal WhatsApp accounts are not supported. whatsappx.si can link a WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app number by QR code as a linked device, so the account stays on your phone, or connect a number through Meta’s official platform.
Which Interakt alternative is best for a Shopify store?
Interakt itself is strong here, with abandoned-checkout and COD-to-prepaid automations. Among alternatives, AiSensy, Wati and Gallabox list Shopify integrations, and DoubleTick lists Shopify alongside its QuickSell catalogue (as of October 2026). whatsappx.si has no Shopify integration; store events can only reach it through its REST API and webhooks, which suits teams with a developer.
Do I still pay Meta if I switch platforms?
Yes, on any platform that uses the official WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta charges per delivered template message by category and market, and since 1 October 2026 also charges for service replies beyond 1,000 per number per month (Meta pricing). Platforms differ in whether they add a markup. A QR-linked number in whatsappx.si does not go through the platform, so those fees do not apply to it.
Will my WhatsApp number get banned if I use a QR-linked inbox?
WhatsApp can restrict any number that sends bulk, automated or unsolicited messages, whichever tool it is linked to (WhatsApp Help Center). Use a new number normally for 15–20 days before linking, send 5–10 messages at a time, never in bulk, and message only people who opted in. whatsappx.si is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta; if WhatsApp restricts a number, that is handled between you and Meta, and whatsappx.si cannot restore it.
Does whatsappx.si offer broadcasts or a chatbot builder like Interakt?
No. whatsappx.si has no bulk broadcast campaigns and no chatbot or flow builder. Today it offers keyword-triggered auto-replies, message templates synced with Meta for official-API numbers, and a knowledge base your team can search. AI replies to customers are coming soon. If weekly WhatsApp campaigns drive your business, Interakt or one of the official-API alternatives above is the better choice.
